Serengeti
Fourteen thousand square kilometres that move with the rain
The Serengeti is not a place you visit so much as a calendar you read. The herds are calving on the southern short-grass plains in February, crossing the Grumeti in June, pressed against the Mara River in August. Book the wrong camp for the month and your clients see grass.
We move clients between mobile camps that follow the herds rather than fixed lodges that wait for them, and we pair the plains with the Ngorongoro crater floor for the resident game. Guides are Tanzanian, licensed, and have been walking these concessions for a decade or more.
